Boy do I have a good one for you on this Valentine’s Day. One of my favorite recent shoots was for a sweet couple named Irma and DK. We met at a bridal show and immediately hit it off (there may have been some hugs and happy tears during our first chat from all of us…true story). I love this couple and this shoot for so many reasons! Living in Colorado, we are blessed with some beautiful backdrops for photos and they thought this park near Boulder would be a great place to explore with their adorable Goldendoodle, Gary. (Dogs are always welcome on my shoots!). We decided a sunset shoot would really enhance the natural beauty of autumn in Colorado, and boy this location deliver! Finally and most importantly, these two are adorable and so in love! You can really see how much they care for and have fun with each other in this shoot which is always my goal when shooting.
I really want my couples to see themselves and their personality in their photos so I try to spend time getting to know them over coffee or cocktails during our initial meeting and really encourage every one of them to do an engagement shoot before the wedding. If they’re comfortable and having fun with me, it will make being in front of the camera easier on them (since getting your photo taken is probably not something you do everyday).
