Shooting at new locations in Denver is always fun for me, especially downtown locations. Don’t get me wrong, the Colorado mountains are beautiful and make an epic wedding backdrop, but there is something so exciting about the bustle and energy of a downtown wedding. I love the challenge of being able to get creative in a new space and seeing a venue with fresh eyes. Justin and Jessica’s wedding was wonderful for so many reasons, not just that I got to shoot a wedding at two new venues for me: St. John Francis Regis Chapel and The Curtis Hotel downtown. These two were so much fun to work with from the very start. Photography was an important aspect of their wedding so we spent quite a bit of time perfecting shot lists, scouting locations and talking in depth about what they wanted in their wedding photos–I love it when couples are as excited about photography as I am!
They are so comfortable with each other and that really translated into the photos we took. They were so excited for this day and I was so honored to be there to capture it for them. Just look at Justin’s face as he sees Jess for the first time during their first look….priceless.
I also had a blast with their friends and family. They definitely know how to celebrate a day like this. (note the champagne shower photo below that Jess’s brother surprised the couple with during our shoot…hilarious). And to cap off the night, we ended our shoot with an amazing downtown Denver sunset with the Clocktower in the background. Does it get any better?
Shoutout to Dylan for being my amazing 2nd on this one. Digital fist-bump, homegirl!
